October 12-13 – Russia, Ukraine, and Euro-Atlantic Security Conference

The University of Maine’s School of Policy and International Affairs (SPIA) and Cohen Institute for Leadership & Public Service will co-host a conference on October 12-13 on Russia, Ukraine, and Euro-Atlantic Security. This conference will take place amidst an ongoing public debate about the Russia challenge and the evolution of what has been for nearly 70 years America’s most critical defense alliance (NATO). It is aimed at enhancing an understanding of those challenges.

Conference speakers include former diplomats and academics, and include both European and American perspectives. This will be the first conference in a biannual series on topical issues in foreign affairs that SPIA and the Cohen Institute plan to hold in conjunction with the Cohen Lecture, which takes place on Friday, October 13. There will be specific panels on Russia and Ukraine, European relations with Ukraine, Russian-European relations, U.S.-Russian relations, Euro-Atlantic security, and will conclude with a roundtable in which each participant may respond to the assertions and conclusions made during other panel discussions.

The conference will take place in Stodder Hall, located on the University of Maine campus.

More details forthcoming as the date of the event approaches.
